Studied biology and philosophy in Sorbona. In 1942 her studies were interrupted
by the war. Annette joined the Resistance movement and took part in it until
France was liberated from the fascists. In 1946 she returned in the university
and combined study with research work in the Museum of the Man in Paris.
From the 1951 A. Laming-Emperer took part in five long expeditions studying
ancient and traditional cultures of South America. At the same time she studied
the prehistoric culture of France, especially the cave paintings. She published a
thorough work on the Lascaux cave and its paintings with the introductions by
H Breuil, A. Leroi-Gourhan and some other works
